There were some excellent images on show from members.  The winner was John McCue with this set of 4 images.

The last image above scored maximum points as did these 2 from Bill Clark who was runner up.

Prize-giving Night 2012

There was an enjoyable evening on Friday for our Annual Prize-giving night. 


A big thanks to John McCue for taking the pictures of the prize winners which are available on our Facebook page. 


Remember that we will be still meeting over the summer months in the clubhouse and hope to organise day out for members to take photos.

Here is an idea for all those old slides we have lying around.

I saw this for sale for £144.99 so it would be cheap to make ourselves...but could you do this to your old memories?

This was taken on a dull wet day in Port Glasgow.

After the storm

For those not on Facebook, here are a couple of post-storm pictures showing how the gales moved containers at the terminal around like kids' building blocks.

Don't forget that this Friday is the start of the new season.

This should be a great season with (possibly) plenty of pictures of the Tall Ships, contributions from our club members and a good batch of visiting speakers.

This was taken last summer on a windy beach. The sky was changing quickly thanks to the wind and was never the same for long.

We are still in the process of compiling the new syllabus. Any ideas would be welcome from members or anyone visiting the site.

Winter's Art

I'm sure many of the members have been out recording the superb ice & light conditions we experienced over the holiday period but, as yet haven't uploaded to the website. So here are a couple of examples to get the ball rolling. I've chosen detail shots as opposed to the 'frosty landscape' pictures that are more the norm.

Happy Christmas

Merry Christmas to all our club members. Our programme was disrupted a little over the recent bad weather but thanks to members we were able to adapt our evenings. Here's hoping that next year will be a good one for the club.

Stormy Weather

This was taken on slide film a couple of years ago between heavy showers at Cardwell Bay. I liked the way the sun lit up the womans glasses and rainhood.

Candid Shots

This was taken in Glasgow across from the Weatherspoons in George Square. I liked the style of the man in the window whose hairstyle was similar to the Victorian bank workers who would have been in the orginal building.

There are some spectacular doorways between Great Western Road and Byres Road. It is worth a walk around this area especially early in the morning to see how they are individually decorated.
