Guidance for Members on the Competition Subjects for 2011-2012
Competition 1
Prints – Faces
Human, animal, objects in nature or the landscape – no need to stick with conventional portraits, but the face must be the dominant part of the photograph
Digital – Close-ups
Images of anything you find interesting, whether it be in nature or inanimate objects
Competition 2
Prints - Picture Postcard
If you want to show the picture postcard/chocolate box type of image, now you can, without fear of the judge decrying it!
Digital – The Living World
Animal, Vegetable or Mineral, the choice is yours – domestic animals can be included
Competition 3
Prints – Cityscape
Self explanatory, but try to capture the “personality” of the city
Digital – Abstracts/Patterns/Simplicity
Imagination can be put to good use here to produce some inspired images; it may be any of the three, i.e. abstracts or patterns or simplicity
Competition 4
Prints – Creative
Anything goes, original ideas welcome!
Digital – Sport/Action
Try to capture the essence of the particular sport or the movement involved in the action
THE SUMMER ASSIGNMENT
This wil be set around the Tall Ships Event which returns to Inverclde this Summer.
The Catagories
1. Close ups
2. People
3. Colour Impact
4. Reflections
5. Patterns
6. Organised events in connection with the Tall Ships
Choose 4 out of the 6 catagories and produce a set of images, one from each cosen category.
You submit a maximum of two sets.
The emphasis is on looking for something different.
The end product is an evening of up to 100 images so we want eye catching images.
